The 29th edition of the Roseto Opera Prima Film Festival has come to a close with yet another successful turnout at the Villa Comunale Theatre, marking the triumph of Greta Scarano’s directorial debut with the film “La Vita da Grandi”. The film not only received the prestigious award for Best Picture, but also won the prize for Best Direction.
“La Vita da Grandi” impressed the jury with its ability to portray the complex world of family bonds and human vulnerability with both depth and sensitivity. The same film also received the “Gentilezza Award”, established in collaboration with “Roseto Gentile Fest” and the “Movimento Italia Gentile”. The Rosa Presentosa 2025 Award for Best Film, crafted by Gioielleria Michini, was accepted by Adriano Pantaleo, one of the leading actors in the film.
The award for Best Actress was presented to Carlotta Gamba for her outstanding performance in “L’Albero” by Sara Petraglia. Her performance, both intense and moving, captivated the jury with its sensitivity, depth, and remarkable stage presence.
The award for Best Actor went to Gianmarco Franchini for his powerful performance in “La casa degli sguardi” by Luca Zingaretti. Franchini masterfully conveyed the fragility and courage of a complex and deeply human character.
Jane Austen’s Period Drama, by J. Aks & S. Pinder, was awarded the Audience Award for Best Short Film.
THE GUEST OF HONOR. The final evening, which was attended by the local Roseto government led by Mayor Mario Nugnes, along with many other authorities, was further enriched by the fourth edition of the successful format “Scena Prima – Storie di esordi” (First Scene – Stories of Debuts). The event featured actor and director Carlo Buccirosso, who shared his experience and artistic journey with the audience. The conversation, moderated by film critic Davide Stanzione, provided a valuable opportunity to explore the theme of debuts in the world of cinema and theatre, offering the audience anecdotes and reflections on the career of a versatile and multifaceted artist.
ROSETO OPERA PRIMA IN SCHOOLS During the final ceremony, certificates were awarded to the students from the schools of Roseto degli Abruzzi who took part in the educational program on film language. The initiative, promoted by the festival and led by Artistic Director Carlo Liberatore, represents a fundamental step in nurturing informed, curious perspectives capable of interpreting the complexity of visual storytelling. Leading this special moment—highlighting the role of cinema as a tool for education, dialogue, and growth—were Mario Giunco, the festival’s historical memory, and the local administrators of Roseto degli Abruzzi.
The festival was organized by Sulmonacinema APS, in collaboration with Meta APS and with the valuable support of the Municipal Administration of Roseto degli Abruzzi.
