The quality of beach - Green Flag

Roseto degli Abruzzi has been awarded a Green Flag by Italian paedeatrician’s as a guarantee of its hygiene, cleanliness and safety for children. The award, which has also been given to 82 other beach resorts in Italy, was given by SIPPS (Italian Society of Preventive and Social Paedeatrics).

The Green Flag is synonymous with:

• clean, shallow waters and sea beds;
• fine, golden sand, ideal for building sandcastles and other constructions;
• the presence of trained and qualified lifeguards ready to step in at sea and on the beach;
• nearby bars, ice-cream shops and restaurants that are particularly family and child-friendly;
• plenty of space between sun umbrellas to encourage children to play games and have fun.
